Great Events of DPRK in 2013
2013 is the second
year of the new centenary of Juche Calendar. This is a historic year replete
with events to be recorded in the annals of the country specially.
The respected
Marshal Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of our party and people, made a
historic New Year Address to the entire officers and men of the Korean People's
Army and people.
This year witnessed
the successful 3rd underground nuclear test.
The historic March,
2013, plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea
set forth a new strategic line on pushing forward economic construction and
building of nuclear armed forces simultaneously.
The 7th Session of
the 12th Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK adopted the Law on the
Kumsusan Palace of the Sun to preserve and glorify the palace as a grand
edifice for the immortality of the leaders where President Kim Il Sung and
leader Kim Jong Il lie in state.
The session also
adopted a law to consolidate the position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons
state.
The grand functions
were held on the occasions of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the
Fatherland Liberation War and the 65th anniversary of the foundation of the
DPRK amidst the great expectation and concern of our people and the progressives
of the world.
The signal
successes were achieved in the field of sports.
This year DPRK
players won more than 160 gold medals, or 3.7 times that of last year, in more
than 70 international games.
A new heyday of
construction was ushered in this year in the spirit of the "speed on Masik
Pass".
The Victorious
Fatherland Liberation War Museum was built in Pyongyang on the occasion of the
60th anniversary of the victory in the war and other monumental structures
symbolic of highly civilized country mushroomed in different parts of the
country.
The 4th Conference
of Cell Secretaries of the Workers' Party of Korea, the national meeting of
light industrial workers, the 7th Congress of the Korean Children's Union, the
4th meeting of KPA company commanders and political instructors were held under
guidance of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un. They were historic ones which
are of weighty significance in cementing the single-minded unity, the
foundation of our revolution, consolidate the class position of socialism and
dynamically propelling the building of a thriving nation.
